ALI CURRIE TAKES ON THE REBELLE RALLY - STAGE 2
Rebelle Rally | Stage 2
Stage 2 was the longest stage the teams will see which brought on the new challenge of time management. Teams would run into the issue of having to give up valuable points in hidden checkpoints as to not risk losing points by showing up to basecamp late.
On top of the long distance, it was the first change of basecamp. Competitors would have to pack everything up and re-organize their vehicles before they would get their maps and start plotting the course. We would work our way from Tonopah, Nevada into the 395 corridor paralleling Bishop on route to basecamp #2 in Ridgecrest.
Ali and Keri weren’t the only ones making those same tough decisions as even the team who won Stage 1 faced the same dilemma. This competition will continue to throw new challenges at the teams as today’s Stage 3 will have some of the toughest navigation. The women are now in some of the most traversed open riding areas of Southern California with trails constantly criss crossing the open desert. The navigation will be very critical with this stage having the most checkpoints at 22.
Ali sits in 15th overall now going into Stage 3.
